The interesting challenge with this “slice and dice” project for Time Life Books was that the original illustration material was in every form imaginable: digital, black and white reflective, two-color, flat four color, modeled four color, and even line art film negative. We brought all those original illustrations into the digital age, stripped out all existing color and re-colored them using a common color palette and modeling style, thereby making them look like they belonged in the same book. We then designed a book that presents this very complex information in a style that is accessible and inviting. This is the most frequently borrowed book on our sample shelf.
