This is a series of books that we have been designing for Monticello for most of the last decade. Each book features the leading authority in one particular area of Jeffersonia, talking about the subject he or she knows best. Way back in the early 1990s we came up with a plan that has held up quite nicely over the years. We designed the covers of these volumes to emphasize their connectedness within the ongoing series. But within that basic cover design we have created variations in color, image placement, and typography that have given each book its own distinct look. The interior typography and layout are standard throughout the series, creating an overall effect that is very pleasing and dignified.
